摘要: Background: Gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors (NETs), a heterogeneous family of arising in variety anatomic sites, are generally well differentiated and often metastatic at diagnosis. Morphologic functional imaging modalities have vastly improved the understanding diagnosis NETs. However, use conventional techniques response criteria to assess treatment is complicated by clinical course cytostatic nature oncologic treatments for Materials Methods: The means therapeutic monitoring discussed this review were based on PubMed search medical literature expertise authors. Results: Morphology-based assessing tumor general oncology presented, along with their limitations gastrointestinal pancreatic Functional preliminary incorporating presented as possible solutions Conclusions: NETs, which slow growing frequently demonstrate low rates when radiological criteria. Furthermore, many NET do not induce cytotoxic effects despite demonstrated benefit. Novel available potential measure changes physiology metabolism. These include 68Ga-labelled somatostatin analogs PET/CT-based NET, molecular PET tracers that receptor targeting, MRI. should be explored options patients NET.
