摘要: This study investigated material flow behaviour in similar aluminium alloy and magnesium sheet lap welds produced by friction stir spot welding. The flows around the tool pin shoulder were visualised through tracer technique, schematic illustrations made to clarify induced direction intensity. observations described that part provided outward spinning motion of material, while generated a centrifugal effect at edge for downward flow/hooking. Induced intensity suggested dominant patterns near observed Al welds, whereas high periphery Mg welds. As result, under explained morphology failure mode was highly dependent on geometry adopted.
