摘要: Patients with implanted electrical devices (IEDs) are vulnerable to electromagnetic interference (EMI) from equipment used in the perioperative environment. As indications for non-cardiac IEDs increase, so too does likelihood of anesthesiologists encountering such patients who present surgery. This article reviews important anesthetic considerations devices. We searched Medline (1980 December 2008) and Embase reviewed all relevant manuscripts regarding anesthesia. There numerous currently use, including deep brain stimulators, vagal nerve gastric phrenic sacral bone stimulators. A key goal management these is reduce risk adverse events resulting device interactions electrocautery, external emergency cardiac defibrillation, peripheral stimulation, neuraxial anesthesia, magnetic resonance imaging. offer a general strategy presenting In absence available anesthesia guidelines setting, should appreciate basic principles pertaining ensure appropriate reduction strategies order enhance patient safety.
