摘要: Acute respiratory tract infections, i. e. rhinitis, sinusitis, pharyngitis, laryngitis, bronchitis, belong to the most common medical conditions with a high economic burden. Nonetheless, there is little agreement concerning their differential diagnosis. This paper will discuss what extent different anatomical sites of acute infections can be uniquely identified or whether overlap and consecutive development in signs symptoms renders these distinctions meaningless. are variable but definition diagnostic categories based on dominant complaints shows that both great and/or emerge successively. Thus, cold distinguishing between symptom-based diagnoses arising from aerodigestive system remains elusive. Therefore, preferred symptomatic treatments should foster resolution all possible as opposed an isolated treatment single symptom (e. g. mucus hypersecretion) according presumed site (i. e. bronchitis).
