摘要: The aim of the study was to compare effect feeding coconut oil (CO) and sunflower (SO), fats customarily classified as saturated polyunsaturated on oxidative stress in Sprague Dawley rats different age groups. were divided into six groups (I, II, III, IV, V&VI) based their (groups I & II-one month old, III IV- 12 months V VI-22 old) provided with standard pellet diet along 10% I, fed oil, IV &VI oil). concentration lipid peroxidation products viz TBARS tissues RBC, hydroperoxides conjugated dienes found be increased SO compared CO. reduced glutathione content decrease respect age, but CO showed higher than both activities antioxidant enzymes catalase, superoxide dismutase, increasing SO. Glutathione peroxidase reductase decreased only aged rats. vitro LDL oxidation also increase depending nature dietary fat. Thus we conclude that aging diminished total capacity an extent diets, a lower diet.
