Defense and Tolerance: Is the Distinction between these Two Plant Strategies Useful?

摘要: Resistance to herbivores has typically been divided into two categories: defense and tolerance. Ho wever, tolerance may not be distinct traits. In this opinion paper, I will argue that the distinction between these categories of resistance inhibit our understanding how traits might evolve.
