摘要: MRI tractography is the mapping of neural fiber pathways based on diffusion tissue anisotropy. Tractography tensor imaging (DTI) cannot directly image multiple orientations within a single voxel. To address this limitation, spectrum (DSI) and related methods were developed to complex distributions intravoxel orientation. Here we demonstrate that DSI has capacity crossing fibers in tissue. was performed formalin-fixed brains adult macaque healthy human subjects. Fiber tract solutions constructed by streamline procedure, following directions maximum at every point, analyzed an interactive visualization environment (TrackVis). We report accurately shows known anatomic crossings optic chiasm, centrum semiovale, brainstem; intersections gray matter, including cerebellar folia caudate nucleus; radial architecture cerebral cortex. In contrast, none these examples structure identified DTI analysis same data sets. These findings indicate able tissue, essential step toward non-invasive connectional neuroanatomy.
