摘要: Abstract Rationale and Objectives The purpose of this study was to determine the influence sophomore electives in radiology on medical students' career choices later clinical practice as physicians assess need for change curriculum. Materials Methods A survey questionnaire created by Department Radiology sent graduates Chicago Medical School, North Chicago, Ill, who had been offered a series three between academic years 1978 1998. included five questions concerning utility electives. Results Of 2,883 questionnaires mailed, 31 were undeliverable 411 (14%) completed returned. total 347 (84%) respondents enrolled one or more electives, 325 340 (96%) stated that instruction received valuable their careers. In addition, 54 333 (16%) indicated influenced choice specialty, 322 328 (98%) believed courses should remain part year elective choices. Within respondent pool, 40 261 (15%) identified themselves radiologists. Among radiologists nonradiologists, respectively, 39 308 371 (83%) radiology, 34 (87%) 291 301 (97%) knowledge gained from proved careers, 30 (77%) 24 303 (8%) 37 (95%) 285 289 (99%) continue be during year. Conclusion Practicing overwhelmingly supported continuation Some suggested required course clerkship.
