摘要: A simple box model expressing conservation of salt, heat, and mass for the top 50 m four regions Gulf St. Lawrence was developed. All available temperature salinity data were combined with monthly estimates freshwater input surface heat flux to obtain an idea average annual variation in vertical horizontal exchanges period March through December. Calculated transports agreed very well geostrophic calculations, nutrient fluxes implied by calculated upwelling water from below are capable supporting estimated primary production Estuary Northwestern Gulf. The main effect increasing discharge spring seems be a decrease eddy exchange between deeper layers due increased stratification.Key words: upwelling, transport,
