Re‐thinking training needs analysis

摘要: This paper reviews the literature on training needs analysis with intention of organising conceptually various approaches. It offers a way going beyond simple descriptions to quantitative approach. A yet comprehensive model is proposed which consists four aspects focusing related questions: Who are key initiators TNA studies? What levels interest in studies (i.e. organization, process, group and individual)? methods used? intended outcome analysis? Based these, hypotheses proposed. search produced total 118 articles, 44 were randomly picked for detailed review. As expected, was dominated by “supply‐led” players, i.e. trainers academics, but an unexpectedly strong emphasis “demand‐led” organisation, especially its business results growth.
