摘要: Deposition onto glass in a parallel plate (PP) and stagnation point (SP) flow chamber of Marinobacter hydrocarbonoclasticus, Psychrobacter sp. Halomonas pacifica, suspended artificial seawater, was compared order to determine the influence methodology on bacterial adhesion mechanisms. The three strains had different cell surface hydrophobicities, with water contact angles lawns ranging from 18 85 degrees. Bacterial zeta potentials seawater were essentially zero. showed kinetics hydrophilic bacterium H. pacifica greatest affinity for glass. On average, initial deposition rates two- threefold higher SP than PP chamber, possibly due convective fluid toward substratum causing more intimate between gentle collisions chamber. ratios experimental theoretically calculated based mass transport equations not only differed among strains, but also two chambers, indicating mechanisms under modes transport. efficiencies chamber: 62±4 114±28% respectively. Experiments reproducible those standard deviations over triplicate runs 8% 23% This is probably better-controlled as diffusion-controlled In conclusion, this study shows that depend prevailing conditions set-up used, which makes it essential design experiments chosen resembling problem investigation.
