摘要: On the occasion of 40th anniversary publication landmark model by Farquhar, von Caemmerer & Berry on steady-state C3 photosynthesis (known as "FvCB model"), we review three major further developments model. These include: (1) limitation triose phosphate utilization, (2) alternative electron transport pathways, and (3) photorespiration-associated nitrogen C1 metabolisms. We discussed relation third extension with two other extensions, some equivalent extensions to C4 photosynthesis. In addition, FvCB has been coupled CO2 -diffusion models. how these integration have broadened use in understanding photosynthesis, especially regard bioenergetic stoichiometries associated photosynthetic quantum yields. Based new insights, present caveats applying Further research needs are highlighted.
