Diversity and inclusion within an occupational therapy curriculum

摘要: Occupational therapy professionals and users of occupational services are becoming increasingly aware the issues diversity encompassing their lived experiences, values meaning systems. This paper situates a discussion curriculum development in terms inclusiveness people's diverse which include complex combinations ethnicity, religion, sexual orientation, gender, socioeconomic status other factors. A pedagogical context is provided based on understandings culture, healthcare literature. The experience one department's efforts to create learning environment that inclusive all its participants used illustrate effective educational structural strategies. Despite noble aspirations, much remains be accomplished regarding how profession defines competencies transcultural evaluation standards, outcomes indicators.
