摘要: Among truck-involved crash types, rear-end collisions result in the third largest number of fatalities and have second frequency. Using two national databases (2000-2004), Fatality Analysis Reporting System (FARS) General Estimates (GES), overall fatal were both investigated this paper. Three groups used to classify two-vehicle study. vehicle's striking/struck role as a basis, categories were: car-car (car hitting car), car-truck truck), truck-car (truck car). There was comparison occurrence conditions three types so that potential risk factors associated with crashes, such driver characteristics, highway designs, road environments, could be identified. The multinomial logistic regression results show significant association between crashes gender, age, alcohol use, speed, day week, interstate, weather condition, divided/undivided highway, lighting condition. also More information regarding effective countermeasures better understanding track-related are provided by
