摘要: In waters formed before ∼1975, Chlorofluorocarbon (CFC) −12 ventilation ages are usually older than CFC-11 ages, which in turn CFC ratio ages. A simple model shows that these discrepancies result from the effects of mixing on biased due to nonlinear increases atmospheric CFCs 1975. younger CFC-12 because CFC-11's relative increase rate atmosphere was higher. results, ideal consistently ventilated prior ∼1975. The differences between and reflected among CFC-11, CFC-12, however, with increasing importance diffusive versus advective tracer transport. Thus it may prove possible estimate magnitude age biases based measured
