摘要: The effects of the highly aggressive isolate KB-2 Karnal bunt pathogen (Neovossia indica) on phenol metabolism, peroxidase (POX) and its isoenzymes were studied in wheat. Two resistant genotypes, HD 29 bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) DWL 5023 durum (T. durum), one susceptible wheat, WL 711, used. In wheats, total phenols reached a maximum 2 days after inoculation (d.a.i.). line, did not change significantly for 6 d.a.i., but declined at 10 d.a.i. Three phenolic compounds, caffeic acid, l-tyrosine hydroquinone, detected using thin-layer chromatography. first two all times inoculation, hydroquinone was only wheats 6 d.a.i. activity POX highest 2 d.a.i. increased more slowly to peak number by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (PAGE) changed with KB-2. occurred Although seedlings identical those seeds, PAGE banding patterns seeds same wheats. potential use additional band relative mobility 0·42 0·28 as markers resistance is discussed.
