SUMMARY Methionine sulfoximine, the toxic principle of agenized protein diet, produces in cat a complex syndrome characterized by behavioral and convulsive changes. In series 50 cats, following features were most consistently observed: 1 Sniffing movements, involving upper lip, nose lower eyelid, accompanied profuse salivation impairment consciousness. 2 Episodic changes consisting head-turning, sniffing, crouching movements strongly suggesting apprehension, orientation fear. 3 Running fits at onset which animal may appear fearful or hysterical. 4 Generalized tonic-clonic convulsions. A detailed description is given influence external stimuli such factors as dosage agent, age, nutritional status experimental animal, upon character, frequency, rapidity onset, duration various phenomena are discussed. The significance sulfoximine syndrome, regards its biochemical similarities to certain types human epilepsy value an tool i n investigation patho-physiology seizures discussed. 4 Convulsions toniques-cloniques generalisees.
