摘要: Abstract Objective To evaluate the effects of simple and elaborated health care provider (HCP) reminder prompts on human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine initiation rates. Methods Twenty-nine pediatric HCPs serving 5 clinics were randomized to 1 3 arms: 1) usual practice control, 2) prompt, 3) which included suggested language for recommending early adolescent platform vaccines. Prompts delivered via a computer-based clinical decision support system deployed in clinics. Eligible patients ages 11 13 years, had not received HPV vaccine, due meningococcal ACWY (MenACWY) and/or tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis booster (Tdap). Receipt was determined automated queries sent Indiana immunization registry. Data analyzed logistic regression models, with generalized estimating equations used account clustering within HCPs. Results Ten control group saw 301 patients, 8 prompt 124, 223. The arm higher rate vaccination (62%) than (45%): adjusted odds ratio, 2.76; 95% confidence interval, 1.07 7.14. did differ significantly from respect initiation, might have been because small sample size this arm. MenACWY Tdap rates vary across arms. Conclusions suggest that an HCP-targeted recommendation language, improve initiation.
