摘要: Reports were compiled of sunfish (family Molidae) by-catch in Peruvian small-scale fisheries and rates estimated using data from shore-based onboard monitoring programmes. A total 114 sunfishes reported the longline gillnet along Peru coast 2005 to 2017. Systematic effort gillnets leads an estimate between 23 352 individuals captured annually by fleet fishing northern port Salaverry central ports Ancon Chorrillos suggests that actual number is thousands individuals. Thus, have potential greatly affect populations these still poorly studied species. Moreover, new occurrence locations are for newly described Mola tecta, which was only observed south 11° S. Because physical similarities among species it difficult identify level thus further studies (e.g., genetics) will be required provide more detailed information on individual vulnerability waters.
