摘要: We used Argo float drift data to estimate average ocean currents at 1000 dbar depth from early 2000 2010. Our estimates cover the global oceans, except for marginal seas and ice-covered regions, a resolution of 1 degree in latitude longitude. The estimated flow field satisfies horizontal boundary condition no through topography, is geostrophic balance. also uncertainty field, which had typical magnitude 0.03 ms−1. relatively large (>0.03 ms−1 both zonal meridional directions) near Equator Southern Ocean. array bias, bias due gradient spatial density data, generally negligible, with an outside equatorial region 0.007 ms−1, becoming (>0.01 ms−1) only coastal regions. measurement assumed be spatially uniform includes errors Argos positioning system, internal clock drift, unknown surface before submerging or after surfacing, drifts during ascent descent between parking depth. found that overall was not sensitive value (ɛm)1/2 when 0.01
