摘要: This paper presents a seasonal analysis of cloud-to-ground (CG) lightning flash activity in the Western Antarctica using detector sensor installed at Carlini Base station. Data obtained from detection system between February and December 2017 were analyzed. Three common locations areas composite active thunderstorms (labelled storm regions A, B, C) detected by within 1000 km radius Storm region A was located to northwest (N/W) station covered Amundsen/Bellingshausen Sea (ABS), whereas C on southeastern (S/E) side over Weddell (WS), with distances ranging 500 800 bearings 270° 360° 90° 180, respectively. B around 100 stroke taken 0° 360°. total 2,019,923 flashes detected, which 43.01% positive CG 56.99% negative flashes. The revealed that more than 96% (both CG) produced during summer fall seasons as compared less 4% winter spring seasons. Most strokes (>85%) central area 15% C, ocean Sea.
