摘要: This article reports the microstructural characteristics of various petroleum and pitch based nuclear graphites (IG-110, NBG-18, PCEA) that are interest to next generation plant program. Bright-field transmission electron microscopy imaging was used identify understand different features constituting microstructure graphite such as filler particles, microcracks, binder phase, rosette-shaped quinoline insoluble (QI) chaotic structures, turbostratic phase. The dimensions microcracks were found vary from a few nanometers tens microns. Furthermore, be filled with amorphous carbon unknown origin. coke (NBG-18) contain higher concentration phase QI particles well structures. graphite, present in all grades, identified through their elliptical diffraction patterns. difference has been analyzed view processing conditions.
