摘要: The Chapter provides an introduction to the diverse range of alternative artificial neural networks (ANNs) currently available and types application they have been adopted for in civil structural engineering. presentation is made with reference a classification decomposition main features ANNs. An first provided essential typical ANN, its mode operation. A brief graphical interpretation presented illustrate how ANNs model data, help gain insight their scope application, merits drawbacks. identification then different processing that can be performed at neuron level, lowest level ANN. This followed by ways which neurons combined into integral device capable solving non-trivial problems. function implemented are examined. Finally, review primary methods developing/training solve specific At each stage chapter, relevant paradigms referenced areas engineering identified.
