摘要: Objective: Nontraumatic spinal cord injury (SCI) represents a significant proportion of individuals admitted for SCI rehabilitation; however, there is limited literature regarding their outcomes. As our society continues to age and nontraumatic injuries present with greater frequency, further studies in this area will become increasingly relevant. The objective study was compare outcomes patients those traumatic after inpatient rehabilitation. Design: A longitudinal matched block design used comparing 86 rehabilitation unit regional model centers, controlling age, neurologic level injury, American Spinal Injury Association impairment classification. Main outcome measures included acute hospital length stay, FIM scores, change, efficiency, charges, discharge-to-home rates. Results: Results indicate that when compared SCI, had significantly (P < 0.01) shorter stay (22.38 vs. 41.35 days) lower discharge scores (57.3 65.6), change (18.6 31.0), charges ($25,050 $64,570). No statistical differences were found care admission community Conclusions: findings can achieve rates functional gains comparable SCI. Whereas achieved overall improvement, charges. These have important implications the interdisciplinary process management
