摘要: The intersections of masculinities and age have attracted relatively little theorizing. This article examines the theoretical implications young/old by bringing together two bodies literature (young old masculinities) research studies (one with pre-teenage school students in Australia one grandfathers United Kingdom). We focus on key themes: caring practices relations divide between physical activity intellectual pursuits. Drawing these themes, we show how allows for gender transgressions equality young boys men can also uphold a discourse hegemonic masculinity, despite age-related tensions. conclude arguing that consideration has much to offer terms thinking about is socially constructed illuminates complex power categories.
