摘要: Introduction: Drooling represents a major problem in the every-day life of pediatric patients with neurological disorders. The significant burden, both physical and socio-psychological, disorder requires adequate clinical evaluation proper management. However, treating drooling remains challenge for clinicians. This is review most up-to-date therapeutic options treatment population, hence conservative, pharmacological, surgical approaches are discussed. Areas covered: Randomized trials (RCTs), structured reviews, case reports included. Special focus paid on methods used to evaluate efficacy safety outcomes selected RCTs, trying promote use more validated scales assess future. Expert opinion: lack reliable metrics limits researchers from identifying best patient-suitable treatment. relatively small number carried out over last two decades also due difficulty assessing using subjective scales. A key enabler new efficient therapies stands introduction accurate robust measure effectiveness drooling.
