摘要: Abstract The paper presents advantages and limitations of microwave heating in preparation lotus stalk-based activated carbon by comparing the characteristic adsorption properties carbons with (Mic-LSAC) conventional (LSAC) methods employing H 3 PO 4 as chemical agent. Mic-LSAC was produced radiation power 700 W time 15 min. LSAC allowed single step to get carbonized at 450 °C a muffle furnace for 1 h. Both showed typical Type IV nitrogen isotherms. had large surface area 1434 m 2 /g micropore volume 1.337 cm /g, while 1220 m 1.191 cm /g. Moreover, higher portion mesopores than LSAC. Boehm's titration results Fourier transform infrared spectra indicated that possessed smaller acidic oxygen functionalities. pH pzc , more ordered stacking layer compared For both adsorbents, kinetics followed pseudo-second-order model equilibrium data were very well represented Langmuir isotherm. maximum capacities obtained 2.80 564.97 mg/g 537.63 mg/g LSAC, respectively. differences textual characteristics caused method related capacity.
