摘要: In recent years, vascular surgery fellowships have changed substantially to meet the requirements for interventional as well open surgical training. Data from Residency Review Committee Surgery indicate that average fellow performed fewer than 15 procedures in 2000, but this volume had increased more 200 by 2005, an increase of 255%. During same interval, there was a slight (4%) decrease number major reconstructions performed. 450 primary procedures, nearly equally divided between and cases. Selected operations, such aortic aneurysm repair, decreased due substitution endovascular procedures. Operative fellows has been preserved part 19% reduction operations general residents. However, with added overall prevalence disease aging population, appears be adequate case material train future surgeons, long less commonly continue focused on trainees.
