摘要: A reproducible in vitro test was developed to quantitatively study the adhesion of human eosinophils Wuchereria bancrofti infective larvae. Eosinophils, regardless donor, selectively adhered larvae presence immune serum. The reaction reached a maximum by 90 minutes at room temperature and remained unchanged up 6 hours. adherent eosinophils, however, did not induce any apparent morphologic change larvae. The phenomenon appeared require, primarily, IgG anti-larval antibodies. Heat-inactivation serum prevent from occurring, although addition fresh normal enhanced intensity adhesion. Maximal obtained when were viable during incubation with leucocytes. Normal found this reaction. responsible factor could be removed absorption cotton. However, procedure had no effect on reactivity sera filariasis cases. The almost totally inhibited EDTA citrate. anti-inflammatory steroid, betamethasone, moderately inhibitory effect. An unexplained finding an enhancing histamine added non-reactive
