摘要: Abstract Background The increased recognition of psychiatric and behavioural disorder in adults with autism spectrum (ASD) has been associated more frequent use psychopharmacologic intervention this population. However, limited evidence supports the effectiveness these interventions for ASD. Objective To review synthesise regarding psychotropic medication reducing disturbance Data sources study selection Electronic literature search PubMed plus manual reference checks all articles on psychopharmacology ASD published English language between 1985 2015. Results conclusions A total 43 studies were included analysis. results indicate that only two medications, fluoxetine risperidone, can be considered as promising evidence-based practices Given rising prevalence ASD, along population, there is a clear need methodologically rigorous research to establish interventions. subsequent establishment clinical guidelines population essential.
