BitHoc: A content sharing application for wireless ad hoc networks

摘要: As a result of the wide spread new efficient mobile communication devices, users are more and willing to find on these devices (PDAs, Smartphones, etc) applications similar ones they using their desktop computers. We go one step in this direction propose demo software we have designed implemented enable content sharing among spontaneous communities wireless multihop connections. Our contribution consists designing, implementing testing trackerless BitTorrent like application adapted ad-hoc networks. The proposed architecture includes two principal components: membership management service service. classical tracker-based peer discovery unfeasible ad hoc networks, design as distributed tracker overlay that connects peers involved same session. Using information provided by overlay, schedules data transfer connections session members leveraging routing feature test-bed composed PDAs smartphones equipped with WIFI adapters Windows Mobile 6 operating system is used validate feasibility our evaluate its performance.
