摘要: Millimeter interferometer observations of the infrared luminous galaxies NGC 828 and 6240 at about 7 arcsec resolution are reported which reveal details spatial distribution kinematics molecular gas in these two high-luminosity IRAS galaxies. The centers both have massive concentrations representing a large fraction total dynamical mass. These regions likely to be extremely unstable gravitational instability. high luminosity is probably triggered by galactic interaction. However, estimated available kinetic energy ISM indicates that can provided bulk release for no more than 10 6th yr, far too short compared time scale merging. In galaxies, CO data support general picture merger systems. 34 refs.
