Tribological behaviors of surface-coated serpentine ultrafine powders as lubricant additive

摘要: The effect of surface-coated ultrafine powders (UFPs) serpentine suspended in lubricants on the tribological behaviors a mated 1045 steel contact was investigated. Through addition UFPs to oil, wear resistance ability improved and friction coefficient decreased. 1.5 wt% oil is found most efficient reducing wear. nano-hardness ratio hardness modulus surface are observably increased. Such effects can be attributed formation tribofilm multi-apertured oxide layer, which micrometric alumina particles embedded nano-particles adsorbed.
