摘要: Abstract We sought to clarify the mechanisms of growth hormone (GH) secretion induced by insulin hypoglycemia, l -dopa, and arginine in man. The GH as measured increased plasma level, response oral administration 500 mg -dopa or 30 min-infusion arginine, was not modified prior intravenous 200 μg GH-releasing (GHRH). It was, however, completely blocked preadmininstered 50 SMS201-995, a long-acting somatostatin (SRIH) analog. release with GHRH 100 SMS201-995. caused insulin-induced hypoglycemia significantly reduced but still present after These results suggest that suppression SRIH may be partially involved stimulatory mechanism -dopa. Coadministration accentuated effect on secretion. Arginine raised TSH levels. findings suppresses from hypothalamus cause because is also suggested some factor (or factors) other than are which stimulates secretion, fully presence Thus all tests for appear act via different mechanisms.
