摘要: Abstract A comparison between the ATP concentrations based on peak height light emission values (0 to 3 s) and integrated flux determinations (15 75 for a variety of seawater samples revealed that method detection consistently yielded higher concentrations, ranging from 1.38 2.35 times larger than corresponding values. A significant correlation (r = 0.923) was observed plot ΔADP (i.e., - ATP) versus GTP + UTP, suggesting analytical interference assay result presence non-adenine nucleotide triphosphates. Size-fractionation studies an enrichment triphosphates, relative ATP, in smallest size fraction analyzed (<10 μm). Investigations were conducted with 20 species unicellular marine algae determine their intracellular these compared levels measured lab cultures bacterium Serratia marinorubra. These results indicated GTP/ATP ratios S. marinorubra increase direct proportion rate cell growth, bacteria are much greater growing algae, presumably due differences rates cellular biosynthesis. It is concluded quantitative environmental sample extracts may be useful measuring microbial growth.
