摘要: A computer model of a tsetse population was developed to determine whether insecticide resistance could evolve as result current control programmes. Chemical analyses were also carried out which showed that Glossina morsitans Westw. can metabolise DDT DDE, indicating potential for in this species. The completely isolated stands little chance surviving attacks with insecticides repeated at short intervals. However, when sufficient time is allowed between applications, such may survive and evolution take place. Given small amount immigration, the retarded, but extinction prevented. degree by depends on dominance relationship resistant gene its wild-type allele reproductive fitness mutant. It suggested strategies are adopted would minimise risk becoming problem susceptibility studies both before spraying operations any residual post-spraying.
