摘要: Drought monitoring models and products assist decision makers in drought planning, preparation, mitigation, all of which can play a role reducing impacts. In this study, the performance two newly developed remote sensing-based indices, perpendicular index (PDI) modified (MPDI), are further explored for regional agricultural regions located central south western Asia. The study area covers from moderate wet climatological zones with dense vegetation coverage to semi-arid arid conditions poor coverage. spatio-temporal patterns surface derived by PDI MPDI 250m MODerate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) data 8-day time steps compared against other indices: Standardized Precipitation Index (SPI) as meteorological potential evapotranspiration (ET0) an agro-meteorological index, both were calculated based on field-measured precipitation parameters. addition, MODIS Normalized Difference Vegetation (NDVI) was its detect occurrence measuring severity indices. Significant correlations found between PDI, applied agrometeorological results confirm previous studies has been analyzing over some points Iran. research, however, implementation higher resolution (MOD09Q1) spatial (250 m) temporal (8-days) dimensions revealed greater agreement information extracted MPDI, field measurements. It could be concluded that indices used early warning system case region similar conditions.
