摘要: Abstract This paper presents a high resolution operational biogeochemical model of the North-East Atlantic that encompasses part continental shelf and adjacent deep sea includes all Ireland's territorial waters. The setup is described, followed by its skill assessment in reproducing chlorophyll nitrate spatio-temporal variability. Part concerns evaluation usefulness decision-making process based on application binary discrimination analysis. one-way nested within 1/12° Mercator Ocean PSY2V4R2 provides physical forcing at lateral open boundaries. Nitrate fields are also proscribed boundaries; World Atlas 2009 monthly climatologies used upper 500 m greater depths formula relates concentration to temperature latitude applied model. represents intra-annual variability surface concentrations time scales across key oceanographic regions reasonably well; deficiencies identified some along with possible causes. can reproduce important characteristic bio-physicochemical features e.g. frontal dynamics upwelling off southwest Ireland properties different water masses Rockall Trough. deemed suitable for purposes, probability make correct positive negative decisions. Operational since 2011, output publicly available via dedicated THREDDS server.
