However, minor neurocognitive disturbances across various domains remain common 50% or more HIV patients according recent estimates. Increased longevity investigation several moderating complicating factors, including vascular disease, neurotoxicity, aging, substance abuse, hepatitis coinfection, psychiatric illness. This article provides a review history disorders (HAND), revised diagnostic terminology, factors development HAND, assessment techniques profiles, current treatment limitations, future research directions.
