摘要: CAPTCHAs are difficult for humans to use, causing frustration. Alternatives have been proposed, but user studies equate usability solvability. We consider the perspective include workload and context of use. assess traditional text-based alongside PlayThru, a 'gamified' veri- fication mechanism, NoBot, which uses face biometrics. A total 87 participants were tasked with ticket-buying across three conditions: (1) all mechanisms in comparison, NoBot times (2) on laptop, (3) tablet. range quantitative qualitative measurements explored perspective. Quantitative results showed that completed reCAPTCHAs quickest, followed by PlayThru NoBot. Participants critical comparison praised it isolation. Despite reporting negative experiences reCAPTCHAs, they preferred due familiarity sense security control. Although slower, NoBot's completion speeds, regarded using personal images as invading privacy.
