摘要: Abstract The influence of various amines on the photoinitiating activity 4- n -propoxythioxanthone in -butyl methacrylate monomer and a commercial triacrylate resin are compared with spectroscopic photochemical properties initiator 2-propanol solution. Photopolymerisation is highly dependent ionisation potential amine indicating involvement triplet exciplex thioxanthone which undergoes an initial process electron transfer. Fourier transform i.r. analysis chloroform extracted cured films confirms that alkylamino radical produced by hydrogen atom abstraction species responsible for addition to acrylate subsequent initiation polymerisation crosslinking reactions. Steady-state photolysis flash data confirm importance transfer step. latter study also identifies absorption spectra ketyl anion.
