摘要: We evaluated the effect of frugivorous birds on germination and establishment Cryptocarya alba, a common tree Chilean matorral. Although removal pericarp fruits increased rate. bird-dispersed seeds loose capacity at higher rate than those dispersed by gravity alone. Seeds toward dense habitats survived, germinated established proportion in sparse habitats. However, survival seedlings was null end summer, both types habitat. conclude that seedling is more likely when dispersal coupled with rain season it occurs discuss implications these effects frugivores context regeneration processes this species
