摘要: Type 1 diabetes (T1D) is one of the most common systemic diseases in childhood which predisposes patient to serious short-term and long-term complications, affecting all body systems. Taste olfactory impairments were first described a long time ago adult patients affected by (both type 2 diabetes). However, studies evaluating taste perception, behavioral attitudes (e.g., food neophobia), preferences toward foods children adolescents T1D are globally lacking. Therefore, purpose this study was assess sensitivity, neophobia, among healthy controls cross-sectional study. presented significantly lower ability general correctly identify qualities, especially bitter sour tastes. Moreover, they characterized fewer fungiform papillae compared controls, as well responsiveness compound 6-n-propylthiouracil (PROP). There no significant differences neophobia scores between two groups, but observed mean hedonic ratings for some product categories investigated. Diabetic showed greater liking certain generally sourness bitterness, an observation probably linked their impaired perceive stimuli, e.g., bitterness.
