Relationships of body weight and carcass quality traits with first lactation milk production in Finnish Ayrshire cows

摘要: Abstract Relationships of body weight and carcass quality traits with first lactation milk production were estimated from a field data set 28 362 Finnish Ayrshire cows, using REML methodology animal model. Studied included heifer mature live weight, based on heart girth circumference as part normal recording system, recorded in the slaughterhouse. Additional measures fleshiness fatness Milk 305-d milk, fat protein yield, percentage. Genetic correlations between yield almost zero, while genetic somewhat higher magnitude. This suggests negative correlation killing out percentage, which might be caused by difference digestive tract feed intake capacity. The low to moderate. Selection for high alone seems thus lead into reduction condition, turn more energy balance especially early lactation.
