摘要: The tissue distribution of S-adenosylmethionine, S-adenosylhomocysteine, methionine adenosyltransferase and S-adenosylhomocysteine hydrolase was explored in the rat. Also effects administration on accumulation polyamines were studied rat liver, brain kidney. similar both sexes, only slightly changed with age. specific activity greatly exceeded that adenosyltransferase, concentration S-adenosylmethionine higher than all tissues examined. However, hepatic S-adenosylmethionine/S-adenosylhomocysteine ratio dependent food supply age animal. No correlation noticed between concentrations adenosyl compounds different tissues. Intraperitoneal resulted a profound but transient increase S-adenosylhomocysteine. elevated also during first 2h after injection. rise treatment could be diminished by simultaneous glycine administration. results support view rate-limiting factor synthesis is methionine. They further suggest N-methyltransferase may have regulatory role utilization liver.
