摘要: Objective. Several factors place victims with traumatic brain injury (TBI) at increased risk for infection. The purpose of this study was to delineate the frequency, types and infection in patients TBI who undergo neurosurgery.Materials methods. Retrospective surveillance infections TBI, aged ≥18 years underwent neurosurgery University Crete between 1999 2005.Results. Two hundred fifty-eight (76.7% men) 342 procedures were included. One forty-two occurred, mainly lower respiratory tract (44.4% number infections) surgical site (SSIs) (25.4%).
