摘要: Activated carbons were prepared by carbonization of tomato paste processing industry waste at 500°C followed chemical activation with KOH, K2CO3, and HCl in N2 atmosphere low temperature (500°C). The effects different activating agents impregnation ratios (25, 50, 100 wt.%) on the materials’ characteristics examined. Precursor, carbonized (CTW), activated characterized using ultimate proximate analysis, thermogravimetric analysis (TG/DTG), Fourier transform-infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence (XRF) point zero charge measurements ( ), particle size analyzer, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive (EDX) nitrogen adsorption/desorption isotherms, diffraction (XRD) analysis. Activation process improved pore formation changed carbons’ surface characteristics. carbon highest area (283 m3/g) was 50 wt.% KOH as an activator. According to experimental results, could be used alternative precursor produce low-cost carbon.
