摘要: Abstract The intensive study of the Arabian Sea during 1990s included mesozooplankton investigations by Netherlands, United Kingdom, Pakistan, India, Germany and States. Several major discoveries resulted. First, high biomass observed Northeast Monsoon season is sustained primary productivity stimulated convective mixing an active microbial loop. apparent ‘paradox’ standing stocks coinciding with low phytoplankton thus was resolved. Second, Southwest (upwelling) supports a burst growth, much which exported to interior strong currents eddy activity depth at end when diapause causes least one very abundant copepod leave epipelagic zone. Third, oxygen minimum zone severely restricts vertical distribution in eastern region Sea. that withstands conditions OMZ most readily, Pleuromamma indica, has increased abundance over past thirty years suggesting may have grown size and/or intensity time. Fourth, Fall Intermonsoon seasons are characterized everywhere cyclopoid genus, Oithona. Abundances Oithona measured higher than those 1930s, food web alterations half-century.
