摘要: Abstract Graphite-like amorphous carbon (a-C) films were deposited by magnetron sputtering on medical grade stainless steel (SS) substrates. The purpose of the study was evaluation as a coating for implants in contact with bone, which formation bone surface is special interest to improve implant performance. initial step consisted cytocompatibility a-C films. Cytocompatibility evaluated seeding human osteoblast cells surfaces and measuring their adhesion, proliferation viability up seven days. These data are also osteoinduction process because phase bone-forming activity osteoblasts entails attachment, proliferation, cell differentiation extracellular matrix synthesis, followed second mineralization. in-vitro properties alkaline phosphatase activity, morphological examination mineralized electron microscopy, selection proteins involved bone-formation process. (cell viability) determined comparison SS, titanium coatings plastic tissue control. We observed superior cellular adhesion surfaces, while slightly better Ti coatings, but nevertheless, values much higher than control, indicating that no toxic biocompatible. On other hand, all results osteoinduction; ALP specific expression bone-growth indicated significantly promotes differentiation, leading its
