摘要: Predominantly linear relations between germination rate and temperature (over specific ranges) have hitherto been found among the main crop plants. Given linearity, accumulated above a base (T b ) is reliable predictor of time. In contrast, this paper shows marked non-linearities in response to for four oilseed rape cultivars, two 'double high' (Martina Askari) 'two double low' (Rocket Express). Linear regressions 1/time given percentiles indicate T about 3°C all cultivars. However, consistent deviations from linearity occur especially at low temperature, such that time 5°C up twice as fast predicted model. Moreover, cultivars show an increasing proportion seeds not germinating lowered. These were still viable demonstrated by their ability germinate when transferred warmer temperature. The consequence non-linearity was increase spread over which germinated This defines effects indicates margin error likely follow applying rate/temperature models whole populations. findings implications propensity different become volunteer weeds feral
